New Brass - Resize?

Should it be necessary to resize new Winchester brass? I had trouble extracting from a Reminghton 141 35 Remington.

Probably best to run it through a sizer die to make sure case mouth is round and expanded slightly if needed. I don't always resize new though but do check to see that it chambers easily in the gun I'm going to use it in. Also when using boattail bullets there is less need to expand case mouths and visually inspect each piece. In a gun with a tight chamber it may be necessary to resize new brass just to get it to chamber easily; had that condition with a Mark V Weatherby 257. Best bet is to resize it but I've loaded a lot of new brass without doing it. . .with no observable negative results.

I do it to round off the case mouths. I don't trim until after the first firing so that they are all formed to the same dimensions.
