Redfield Frontier rings

Anyone know when Redfield offered the Frontier rings and mounts? These used an approximately 3/8" groove with a cross channel for fore-aft location. And what ring sizes were available? 3/4" and 1" both? I assume they were not a commercial success and disappeared from the market after a short period.
