aside from the rimmed-rimless factor, are there any differences between the 30 remington and the 30/30? can i use 30/30 dies to reload 30 rem?

  Yes. There is an 0.011" difference in length and the shoulders have different angles.

  nononsense ,I have a set of Lee Dies and they say it's OK to load either 30/30 or.30 Rem. with these dies.What do you think?

  I was answering the first part of the question and didn't finish the last part. Duh!
  
  Yes, you can use .30-30 Winchester dies to reload the .30 Remington. You need to pay attention when setting the die up so you don't set the shoulder back.
