I need an H&R EXPERT !

Hi Guys,
I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for some pictures of an H&R Model 5 lightweight and an H&R model 8 Standard...Both .28g shotguns..Pics and info would help...

I'm also looking for a .28g barrel and a stock for the same....

I tried the wanted section with no replies. I'm SURE there's an EXPERT out there !!!!

    Got your e-mail, allow me to clarify: I don't have any parts nor guns for sale. I do have some pictures of both models as well as other H&Rs but because of my lousy dial-up connection in this area I can only send low def pics and they take forever to upload.
    Do you have specific questions about ID'ing your pieces that I can help you with? The two models you mention are quite different and easy to differentiate.

    Hi Jim...Thankx for responding so soon...I'm basicall looking to see which one has a "clasp" that sits flush on the gun. When you want to remove the barrel you lift the clasp and remove the pin then the barrel...I can send a pic of what I have if you want....

    That "toggle head" removable hinge pin feature is found on the Model 1900 full size and on the Model 1905 light weight. The fore stock on these is held to the barrel by an external screw. The Model 1908 has a fixed hinge pin and a pull off fore stock. The Model 1915 light weight was the successor of the 1905 and has the same hinge arrangement as the model 1908. The fore stocks on these is attached to the barrel by a "friction" catch and pulls off the barrel. The fore stocks and butt stocks for these various models are not interchageable because of size and attachment methods. The Model 1908 under went continuous improvement over the years, eventually becoming the Model 48 STANDARD, which was replaced by the Model 58 with the receiver mounted latch release.

    Well, my friend - good luck with your search - they are few and far between at this late date. Check out the Gunbroker auction site on a regular basis - the stock will probably be easier to locate than the barrel - but occasionally beaters do show up for pretty low prices - if your receiver/frame is in good shape - you may consider buying a complete firearm and picking the best parts to make one. One other thought - these guns were made during the era of "hand fitting" by skilled factory smiths - you may have to do a bit of fitting (or have it done) to insure safe operation if you swap parts.
