H&R Excell Turkey Gun

I have an excell turkey gun with a 22 inch barrell i was wondering if another excell gun with a 28 inch barrell would work. Also would that cut down on recoil? My kid dont like to shoot it. Also any ideas where i could get a recoil pad? I would prefer one not needing to be modified Thanks David

  Cutting a barrel has very little to do with recoil . Weight of the gun plus stock design compared with weight of Shot and velocity of shot is the key to Recoil. You can buy a slip on recoil pad or have one fitted by a gunsmith to just about any Butt Stock.
