which browning buckmark to buy?

which browning buckmark to buy? there are many to choose from are they all the same except some cheap and some expensive. are the triggers the same in all and what is the accuracy from them. i am going to get one soon and need some input.

    The short answer is to buy the one you like or that suits your needs. Same trigger, the primary differences are in the barrels. Accuracy is decent. These are fine plinkers and target shooters, but not competition level pistols. Maybe a little rabbit or squirrel hunting along the way. Bull barrels and longer barrels are more about target shooting, some are intended to be camp guns and plinkers. There are probably more variations for marketing than are actually needed for shooting. I have two and I am happy with them. I grew up shooting Colt Woodsman and these are the next best thing in my view.

    IMHO get the model that comes with a red dot mount on the barrel . I have seen these pistols used and work for N.R.A. bullseye Shooting May not being currently used by Master class shooters but is capable of some very good scores I DO think there are 2 different triggers one with an adjustable overtravel screw. I would also get that option as well as wood grips.

    I second what perryshooter says. I think the 5.5 field or 5.5 target are the ones i would choose. They have a full length Weaver style rib for mounting optics, and have nice sights as well. There are some guys that really know how to tweak the triggers on Buckmarks so well that it pissed the S&W 41 shooters off. There are many aftermarket grips to be had also.

    I shoot a Buckmark Micro Bull with a Millett red dot. I don't know if this model is available any longer but it has a real nice heft and feel to it. I installed an overtravel screw simply by drilling a hole in the trigger and tapping it for a set screw. Here's a thread on adjusting the pull weight on the Buckmark's trigger. I did it and it works. Scroll down to the first "Heggis" reply. This thread goes on and on. Good info.

    thanks to all and a big special thanks to greystone for the info on the trigger lightning fix. i dont have one yet but one of my freinds does and he also has a digital trigger pull so i will do his since he has complained by flipping the spring. i know how and it looks like a perfect quick fix.
