info on m1 30 cal

i have a m1 30 cal it does not have a serial # or name who made it nothing has been removed like to know who made it . thanks

  I'm guessing that you have an M1 carbine, as opposed to an M1 rifle. It should have a name & SN somewhere; you might want to check under the rear sight overhang.

  EDIT: You can usually read the information with a small flashlight. But, sometimes you have to slide a piece of tracing paper under the sight & rub with a pencil point (like a temple rubbing).

  "check under the rear sight overhang."..........YOU MAY HAVE TO REMOVE THE REAR SIGHT TO GET A CLEAR VIEW.
