Jimenez 9mm and 380

Has anyone used, or had experience with these handguns. I am looking for something dependable, inexpensive, and with some guts for the purpose of personal protection. I have heard both pro's and con's to the purchase, and would like more insight. Thank you.

    They don't have a positive reputation. Do a search using Jimenez as the search term, I believe this has been discussed before.

    IMHO you would be much better off by putting out a little more money and getting a KelTec. They make them in both calibers, and have been in business since the mid 90's. Their 9mm P 11 was first manufactured in 1995 and still going strong, I believe they have shipped hundreds of thousands of them already.

    That gun only has cons. Check into the CZ82 if you are ok with a .380.

    If you want a gun that will be dependable to fire the first shot and then jam up with the rest of the magazine then go ahead and get a Jimenez-just make sure you get a head shot[;)] I would wait save up a little bit more money for something you can use to save your life. The ONLY thing going for that brand is it is cheap, but just remember the sweet price will long be forgotten once the inferior quality shines though. If you are on a budget then get a new taurus revolver-you can find them for well under $300 or get a used S&W or Ruger revolver--you can find quality auto's under $400 on the used market-heck I'd take a new Bersa .380 before I'd buy a Jimenez/raven/bryco/jennings gun.

    My buddy has the .380, it won't shoot unless he keeps upward pressure on the magazine. Junk!

    I would also buy a Bersa before the Jimenez. I have a .380 thunderer and it has been a good gun.

    I was handling one at a gun show. As I handled it, the trigger broke. I was handed another one and the slide bound up. I walked away and bought a Bersa .380, two-tone for $245 and it has worked flawlessly. The triggers are heavy but many people swear by Kel Tecs and they can be had at a good price in 9mm.

    Bersa, Makarov, Feg PA63 are much better places to look.
