    If the gun is in original configuration, I recommend against it as it is a collector gun.

    The wood was to bad to save. The action is real nice. all the tooling and armory markings match.

    I've seen them converted to 7.62x54r Russian by running a chamber reamer in em. Only good for shooting milsurp berdan primed cases though, it leaves a double shoulder on the empty case.

    The Auzzies have several wildcats based on the 303 that you might want to consider. Cartridges of the world lists some as does the combined volume of Wildcat Cartridges. I've wondered about the 303 necked down to like 7mm or 6.5mm might not make a nice flat shooting round and an easy conversion......

    Not just a rechamber, but REBARRELING. Gibss has been doing these for a while. Drawback is cost, limited magazine capacity, and you still have a SMLE action that tends to grow headspace issues over time.
