browning A 5 and FN A 500

you'r probably wondering why this guy is asking so many questions well i'm working on replacing my guns that were stolen a couple of years ago and i'm just about done, question is, can you point out a couple of differences between the a5 and a500. i have plans on buying an a500, but i'm not sure of some of its pro's and con's, i gotta tell ya, i dont know where i'd be without this forum,you guys are great, thanks, rusobr2

    apples and oranges.
    not even close to being the same.
    a500 is a piece of junk compared to the a5.
    the a500r is the recoil type.
    a500g is the gas version.
    both are junk.

    I wouldn't go as far as bobski. I had a 500R woth screw in chokes that I uses for a couple of years on ducks and geese. I put well over 500 shots thru it with no issues. I actually like it better than my current 11-87 and it was much cheaper , 250 at auction out the door.

    the 500s are built and imported from some central american world factory tied up with browning. they are made of cheap quality ....in comparison to the A5 from belgium...that is made with steel, high grade wood, and a 100 yr old proven design.
    its like day and night.

    I agree there is no comparision with the A5 but only state I wouldn't call the a500 junk . It served me well
