Leaving Mags loaded long term

If I leave some of my MagPul window mags (AR, .223) loaded for a long period of time will I weaken the spring or otherwise damage the magazine? Thanks.

    It's fine. It's compressing and decompressing the spring that weakens it, not just compressing it and leaving it.

    It's an urban myth.

    Leave them loaded and have no worries.

    No loss of tension if left compressed. Only repeated up/down of the spring will cause it to lose it's, well, spring!

    I have a WWII era brought-from-the-factory Walther magazine that was continuously loaded for over 40 years. Still works just fine. Believe all the posters above and don't worry.

    How would something that is at rest in its normal range of use ever wear out or weaken?

    It is the guys that are flexing the spring by loading and unloading the mag that is causing wear.
