Looking for a 357 mag, not sure what make or model,however i think a 3" bbl ,SS and double action revolver is what appeals to me the most. Any and all help is appreciated.

    For CCW or carry, fixed sights, Ruger Service Six
    For target, range, general plinking, adjustable sights, Ruger Security Six, Ruger SP101, Ruger SP101, S&W 686, S&W Model 19, S&W Model 66

    All the above can be found reasonably priced, used, and all are sturdy guns. It takes a lot to wear one out. You may have to settle for a 2.25" or 4" gun in some of them, 3" being harder to find sometimes. Also, some of them are blued or nickel plated instead of stainless but you pays your money and takes your pick.

    Or, new Taurus or Rossi or S&W or Ruger

    Looking for a 357 mag is a bit like looking for a car with a V8 engine, 3" barrel, SS and double action means you're looking for a car with 4 wheels, 2 doors and an automatic transmission. Still leaves a lot of room to look

    Id recommend first Smith and Wesson , then Taurus or Charter Arms ..

    If you want quality that will last forever get a Smith & Wesson or Ruger.

    If you want something "cheap" get a used Smith & Wesson or Ruger. [;)]

    Hi Mark,

    Buy a S&W 686 and NEVER regret it. They are very well balanced and extremely accurate.

    Go with a 4" bbl Smith & Wesson. Even though everybody has been on the semi auto bandwagon for a few years, we all need a good S&W .357 mag. Nothing is rated higher in "one shot kills to the torso."

    Smith & Wesson and Taurus are fine, well made,and safe revolvers.
    Charter Arms are not the same quality that they were 1970's & early 1980'S.
    The fit, finish, and dependability are no longer in these revolvers.
    I will not sell them in my store. God forbid that a customer would be
    injured;or, because it failed to fire or had problems when it was needed.
    I have refused to service since the mid 1980's. Chain of possession is a big factor in liability cases.
