Unknown Gun Parts ID Question

Hi Guys, anyone out there know what firesarm these go to?. They were in a bag of gun stuff I bought a few months ago.

    Yes, that is part of the kit to convert a M1 carbine to a full automatic M2 carbine.

    The top two are selector switch and spring for the U.S. M-2 Carbine.
    I'm guessing on the bottom two but they may be trip lever and spring for the AK47.

    ...If these are to an M1 Carbine, doesn't the law about Class3/NFA state the parts are legal as long as you do NOT own the gun they fit/convert?..just asking...[;)]

    It is illegal to possess a complete set of parts, known as an "M2 carbine kit". Whether or not you also possess a carbine is irrelevant.

    Well I think you have a few things mixed up here. Read what you wrote. I think you mean to say that "knowingly possessing any machine gun part is illegal". If that is what you mean that is not true either.

    Here is what the WA state law says, RCW 9.41.220

    All machine guns, short-barreled shotguns, or short-barreled rifles, or any part designed and intended solely and exclusively for use in a machine gun, short-barreled shotgun, or short-barreled rifle, or in converting a weapon into a machine gun, short-barreled shotgun, or short-barreled rifle, illegally held or illegally possessed are hereby declared to be contraband, and it shall be the duty of all peace officers, and/or any officer or member of the armed forces of the United States or the state of Washington, to seize said machine gun, short-barreled shotgun, or short-barreled rifle, or parts thereof, wherever and whenever found.

    Key part is in red. Ignorance of the law is no excuse for breaking it, nor is it a defense. No matter what state you live in you should read and KNOW YOUR laws. For WA state here are the RCW's for "guns", http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=9.41


    Colt what you are saying is kinda true. In the case of the M2 "kits" the ATF says they are the NFA item and need to be properly registered to be legal.

    Thanks Nwcid "knowingly possessing any machine gun part is illegal", is what I meant. I thought that given the contexed of the topic it was understood that any part referred to machine guns. The reason I said "knowingly" is because here in WA the procecution failed to prove the defendant knew the parts were illegal and lost the case. The parts were in his safe and someone turned him in. Not that I am in favor of any gun/arms laws because ALL arms laws are illegal. Sorry for causing any confession.
