wife needs a nine !

She has a Bryco Jennings, she thinks the grip is too big for her. I do too. Can you recommend a smaller grip 9 for her to look at ? Oh yeah, she just got her CCW too

    the gun has not jammed on her, but she doesn't like the grip size.and yes I would prefer something that is known for reliabilty

    She has a Colt Cobra, but she wants a 9mm..
    and I'm not going to argue with her.lol

    thanks for the suggestion though.She could carry the Cobra with the hammer resting on an empty cylinder.. It will be a alittle while before she has her permit, we have to get the 2x2 photo and then visit the local sherrif.

    Jim Rau makes a good point. Revolver is the way to go (assuming new carry permit equates to somewhat "new" as a pistolero)

    However, if self-loader is the only option, and she is starting with a clean slate-no other experience consider the H&K P7PSP. Somewhat pricey, but it's good to learn on because there will be no habits to overcome from handling other guns.

    And, the gun is placed on safety by simply letting go of it!! (Laying it on the nightstand, etc) due to the grip-cocker. Joe

    Remember: those that say "the P7 takes getting used to" are those who have pistol experience. It's a darn good gun for someone that doesn't have any habits to break. Very ergonomic. And smallish. Have her try out for "fit" many guns, however. Only she knows the best for herself.

    My pappy once said: "It's like shoes and condoms..you really have to "be there in person" to insure proper fit". Best again, Joe

    I like a revolver for women best also. Principly because they can stick their hand in their purse, have unseen gun IN HAND, and fire from within purse if need be. An automatic would likely jam inside a purse.
    But if you want a reliable, moderately priced, medium to smallish size 9MM. I would highly reccomend a Makarov 9x18MM. A high quality milsurp that has an excellent rep for reliability.
