I had one in a 204. I put about 600 rounds through it. The accuracy was good-1/2" to 3/4" groups were commonplace. The trigger is easy to adjust for pull weight and I got along with it fairly well. I can't say too much about the stock. The forend is flimsy and mine had a tendency to crowd the left side of the barrel. I was able to free float it tho. I no longer have it. I have arthritis in my left shoulder and the VTR has to much weight up front for me to shoot it off hand comfortably so I traded for something lighter and better balanced. For the same money I think you can do better.

I have been in the past a big fan of Remington, and their 700. I still am of the older ones made over 10 years ago. The new ones have not impressed me since they moved out of Illion, NY. Seems they have followed suit with Ruger and flushed their quality control down the drain. I have heard rumors that they have taken measures to change that in the last year.

For right now, I wold look at a Tikka T-3, or a CZ 527.
