Making an offer

I could e-mail and make an offer on an item I am interested in or is there another way that this sould be done using the auction.

    If you are talking about the auctions, you simply bid using the links on the auction you are looking at. You must be seperately registered on the auction side to bid. You may not offer to buy anything on the boards.

    If you are talking about the auction side, the only legit way to do it, so GB gets their cut, would be to email the seller and say "I will pay X IF YOU RELIST IT at that price."

    Otherwise it is rather dishonest as it is using GB's web space for free 'ads.'

    I've gotten several of those kinds of emails when I listed items for sale on the auction side. I deleted them without responding.

    If my starting price is, say, $100, THAT is the minimum I am willing to accept. At least, now. Had I been willing to take $75, THAT would have been my starting price. If I don't get any bids, I can always relist at a lower price. But, for now, my starting price is my starting price.

    Maybe some folks will accept less, that's their business. But, I consider such offers a waste of my time.

    I disregard those emails. Mostly ballbreakers whose offers disappear when you say "yeah send the $".

    Typically the email starts "your gun is junk and only good for parts...will you take $50 less."
