1873 Winchester Loose Lever

I am looking at a 1873 thats in real nice shape and has a good bore. But the only problem is the lever seems to not want to stay completely shut. The carrier stays closed just the lever is loose. Is this easy to fix? Any answers would be great. Thanks

  I believe near the back of the lever there was a twist lock for that purpose.
