My redfield peep sight needs fixing...

The windage knob on the right won't budge and I think it is because the knob shaft - screw may be slightly bent, preventing it from turning. What do I do now? Is it easy to disassemble? Is it then just a matter of buying a new part? Advice welcome!

    I think it might be a case of rust rather then physical damage I would get some KROIL and keep the sight wet with it for at least 24 hours. then try to rock clockwise counter clockwise to see if the knob will turn.

    Boy!! that windage knob does look sorta out of whack a little. Must have fallen from a rack or been dropped or something. Try removing the knob; then the cap plate and screw; then using a bench block and some drifts straighten your parts out and reassemble. Parts for these can often be found on e-bay if you break something.

    Thanks for the replies guys.
    I was able to remove the windage screw and it has an obvious bend to it.
    How does one go about straightening it? To be honest, I don't follow the whole bench block and drift thing.

    Thanks Jim. I went to the site but how does one know if this is the right Redfield windage screw for the right Redfield sight? The Redfield sight on my rifle is a Redfield model 70-AT I believe. Thanks! Kim
