What do I have here ???

gumbydamnit
It is 5 5/8" long to the squared end and 6 3/4 overall, 1 1/2 wide.
Barrel has been welded closed. Any value or should it go to the scrap bin?

    M1 Carbine receiver??? The barrel is too big for a M1 Carbine, I don't know what it is!

    That's what it looks like to me as well. I don't know alot about machine guns, but if that is the receiver, and it is intact, it could be illegal (Federal offense) for you to own.

    as far as i know the sideplate of a 1919 is the only controlled part so your ok. what you have would be worth listing for building a display gun but it would not hurt to check

    Its not the receiver or side plate of a receiver, its the barrel and barrel extension for a 1919A4 .30 machinegun.

    The extension has been welded and the barrel pluged so would work for a demil gun if you wanted to build one, otherwise scrap metal.

    It goes in one of these

    Tom..... Yes, you can sell it. Its too bad the barrel is plugged, it would be worth a lot more in shootable condition.

    Neither of those parts are regulated so your good to go.
