Smith & Wesson Model 27-2 value?

Any of you guys have a value range I should be looking for on a Smith & Wesson Model 27-2? This will be an insurance settlement.

    Try to post a better pic.

    I can't tell if it's just beat to death or if it's badly worn.

    The flash almost makes it look like a pinto. If that can be verified by lettering, then you've got a much more valuable piece.

    It's lost. Same as a stolen vehicle. Insurance should pay a value fee (use $395.00). Then it's their property. Same as an automobile.

    That it gets recovered and chopped up by the authorities, is not your concern.

    They pay the insuree, then it's their property to do [whatever] with it. No longer your fight.

    Concentrate on getting the settlement. Gun will not be worth the same as it was prior to being stolen due to months of rusting in the property clerks office. Witness the photo you gave us. Joe

    Sorry... The "lettering" I'm talking about would be a letter from Mr. Jinks at Smith and Wesson stating it's origional configuration when it left the factory.

    Is the cylinder nickel plated?

    Go to the auction side of Gunbroker (click on 'home' at the top of this page)

    enter "115609432" in the search feature

    You will get a completed auction for a S&W 27-2

    Print the auction pages & give it to your insurance adjuster as proof of the replacement cost for the gun you lost (don't forget to add shipping & dealer fees)

    They have to prove you wrong & to do that they will have to produce the original gun, which should be acceptable too.
