Leupold DD mounts on Winchester Mod 70 WSM

Probably a dumb question, but here goes. In which direction do I mount the Leupold Dual Dovetail ring bases on my Mod 70 short action? The longer base obviously goes on the front of the gun, but which way? Should it overhang the breech or the barrel? The radius is different on the two bases, so I'm pretty sure the longer one fits in the front. It looks like the scope will fit with adequate eye relief either way. Help! And thanks ahead of time.     the ring is reversible and will hang over into the ejection port...you can also try the mount that wiil center between the two screws the mount with the windage screws is allways the rear mount I would have to look but you might be able to turn it 180 degrees also..I just reread your post again ..short action you probably dont need the reversible mount and it will probably look better with the ring centered on the mount between the screws
