What is the meaning of the word "target" when used to describe hammers, triggers, and stocks in S&W revolvers?

  A target trigger will be wider, a target hammer has a wide spur, & target stocks are much larger than standard. I don't think they have photos showing the differences on the S&W website, but take a look at some guns on the auction side.

  everything is wider for more finger contact with the key recocking componants. remembering...there was a time when revolvers were the mainstay of match shooting and rapid fire required fast cocking...5 shots in 10 seconds.
