1896 Krag

Are the stocks for Krag s interchange between years. I have a 1896 carbine that needs a stock. Can I use the 98 or 99 stocks. Thanks for your help!

  Are there any marks on a Springfield Armory 1896 that tell if it is a true carbine or a cut down carbine? I can't post pictures.

  No markings I'm aware of but you could check the serial number. Might not verify it but it's good info:

  Thank you jonk. Born in 1897. Old rifle is in pretty good shape other than the stock has been messed with. It is pretty short with one barrel ring.
