Stevens 25 Rimfire Rifle
I have a Stevens 25 caliber rimfire rifle that I want to put up for auction but don't want to post a starting price too high or too low. It has spent most of its life in a gun cabinet so it's in very good condition. I found ammo in the 70's and shot a few rounds (the first to do so in many years) Under the lever is stamped "X525". The front 14.25 inches of the barrel is round and the rear 6 inches is octagonal. It sports quite a combination of sites and has a saddle ring. Can anyone give me an approximate value?

When you say saddle ring do you mean the small ring on the take down nut ? This nut allows the barrel to be removed on the favorite models. Is the gun marked model 1915 on theupper tang?
The 25 caliber is a drawback because of the difficulty with getting ammo.
A good set of clear pictures would help to ball park pricing!0 -
If you go to the main page of Gunbroker, you will find a search browser. Just put "Stevens .25" in the window and then enter. I found a barrel in a current aution which is about like the description you have given. It is for a Stevens model 44. but the model 44 is a single shot model. I looked in my book and did not find the exact model you have described, at least the barrel.
If you can post pictures, someone else may be able to provide additional detail. Sorry I cannot help any further.

Yes, the ring is part of the take down bolt.... my mistake. I can't find "Model 1915" stamped anywhere. The only model ID is "Stevens Favorite" molded into the butt plate. I'll post photos later today. Thanks to all of you.......... Ron 0 -
