Old Rifle
I have an old rifle given to me by my grandfather. I know nothing about it and thought you folks might know a bit about it. This is what markings I have found. "Budapest M.95" S/N 1990D. It appears to be missing the clip or magazine. I will attach some photos.

I recently was given an old percussion rifle by my uncle.
It is a .31 caliber.
Converted from flintlock to percussion.
Barrel is well over 30"
I have been unable to find any markings on the rifle itself.
The wood is in excellent shape with tiger striping.
It does have some blue remaining, maybe 60%, but no rust, pitting or any other damage.
It has some engraving here and there and has brass that is very tarnished.
If I clean up the brass, do I lower the value?

Your rifle is a US Model 1884 manufactured in 1888. We definitely need pictures for any further evaluation as the Trapdoor Springfield is one of the most popular but also one of the most altered of military firearms.
