Winchester model 121 .22 L.R.

~Mr. Colt .45~
I bought this winchester 121 .22 S,L, L.R. for $25 a few days ago from a co-worker who has had it laying around his basement for years! I think i got a pretty good deal on it! I bought a new scope for one of my other .22's and took the scope off of it and put it on this one! Its only a $40 scope but im going to the range tomarrow to zero this little bargin in! I figure it would be a good gun to keep behind the seat of the truck or just a good plinker. the gun has a little surface rust on the barrel, trigger gaurd, and bolt! I went to a gun show last month and found one for $125 so that put a smile on my face! How do you guys think i did?[?] Do any of you guys know how to get the bolt out of this gun? Do you know the reputaion for this firearm?

    first rifle my big brother was given in the early '60's, also my first rifle experience. great shooters! to remove, open the bolt, then push down the ejector and out it comes.

    Yes, Lift the bolt handle and draw it back. Then with a small tool push the ejector blade at the front of the bolt face down, as you withdraw the bolt.

    Be very careful to NOT get the extractor clips reversed when you have the bolt out. If you do so the gun will fire on closing the bolt.

    I bought mine new 40 years ago paid 21 dollars for it my my second gun first was bb gun you got robed [:D],But I shot about 20,000 rounds through it before I wore out the saftey and bolt head.P.S.it was not my last one

    HENRY!!! I was working on one of these for a friend. When opening the bolt, the safety came up as it was supposed to, but it did not stay up when closing the bolt, and the striker would not stay cocked. Now, I can grab it and hold it in place when closing the bolt and the striker remains cocked.

    I intend to get the rifle back after reading what you wrote, and have another look. What should I reverse?

    There are left and right extractor clips. I'm not sure you're having the same issue I did.

    I still intend to get the rifle back in hand. I may need to call you when I do.
