1916 DWM Luger?

I have a DWM, 1916 dated Luger with a brown Luger holster dated 1912, that may be original to the pistol, I don't know for sure. The pistol has all matching numbers, even on the inside of the grips. Of course, the clip doesn't match.

About a year ago, I asked about the numbers stamped on the front of the grip frame.
The are: 169. R 7. 13.
A member was kind enough to respond with the information to "decode" these stampings; regiment, unit etc.

I researched the military information and found all kinds of neat stuff. I put it all together and promptly lost it.

Would the aforementioned member please respond again with the info?
I promise not to lose it again.

    Thank you rufe-snow. How did you come up with the link? It is exactly what I was looking for, I guess that's why you are an advanced member and I'm a lowly junior. [:)][:)]

    I searched the Internet and was able to trace some of the activities of the 169th. Prussian Infantry Regiment. I was never able to determine if they were in any major battles or where they served. I did find out that the 169th. was combined into another unit, but, as I said, I lost all my research, I don't remember what the unit was.

    My Dad was in the British Army (Black Watch Regiment) during WW1. He was in charge of a Lewis Gun team and carried a .455 Eley Colt. I often wonder if they ever faced each other during the war.
