Ammo Advice 223 & 7.62x39

Hi

I am feeling the need for many reasons to stock up on ammo.
What is the better ammo to buy in 223 & 7.62x39 for my Colt and AK.
I do not want to harm my guns
Does any one know of any deals out there? Prices have gone nuts!

    Most of it shoots fine and dandy but is dirty, meaning there is a lot of dark stuff left in the bore and on the gun after shooting a lot of it, but it cleans up easy enough. Any of the stuff sold bulk will be OK. Some is more accurate than others, only testing will show any difference.

    If you want to shoot ground hogs at 400 yards you better handload. If you want to shoot tin cans and plink at targets, the Russian and Chinese stuff is fine.

    I wouldn't shoot Russian steel case through my AR, go to the home page on GB you can find some cases of 223 ammo not too bad. Priv Partisan, Sellior & Belliot, PMC. Okay stuff and reloadable. Now 7.62, I would buy the cheapest non-corrosive stuff I can find.

    For multiple reasons including fear of possible ammo restrictions under the new Obama administration, as well as general fear of breakdown in law and order because of the recession, ammo is flying off the shelves, with general shortages in many places in many calibers.

    So there aren't many "deals" to be had in any common caliber anymore.

    I think the days of $0.10 per round rifle ammo are probably gone forever.
