Bushmaster ar15 trigger adjustment
Can a bushmaster AR 15 trigger be adjusted or must the trigger be replaced? Thank you, Joe.

Well if it is an adjustable trigger like the ones the come in their varmint guns then yes.
If it a stock style trigger then no.0 -
A standard AR trigger can be fine tuned IF you take it to a good smith that knows what they are doing but it is easy to mess up if they don't. Getting a Jard or McCormick may not cost that much more. 0 -

The "Standard, Mil-Spec" trigger for an AR rifle is not adjustable. Some manufactures/builders install an upgrade. Such as the Bushy Varminter. So do some RRA Varminters and Tactical models. On a standard model you can take the trigger apart and smooth up the mating surfaces of the sear and hammer. You can also replace the sear stop screw so that it shortens the pull. You can replace the springs so that it has a lighter pull. None of those will make the trigger as good as a Jewel, McCormick, Timney or Geisele trigger. Of those items I gave you. none will make the rifle go full auto. My best advice is to get one that, if it adjusts, is locked by nuts or safeties. Not locked by thread lock. That doesn't hold with repeated shots.
The reason I don't recommend a Jard is that I tried a Jard trigger. I loved the way it pulled so smooth and crisp. However, I had a terrible time trying to get it not to 'double-tap' or lock the hammer back in the hand-off arm. So I pulled it. the sear set screw backed off (even well coated with thread lock) and allowed the rifle to miss the 'handoff arm' and double tap. Part of my issue too is that to adjust it you had to take the entire assembly out. Too many times in and out and I had a little bit of peening on the pins and damage to the holes. Spend the money and do a drop-in.0
