276 Peterson Ammo

Does anyone have any recent information as to the value of 276 Peterson Ammo. I am in the position of buying 6 unopened 20 round boxes dated 1929. I have been searching online but have not fuond any for sale or seen any prices.

  You may have better luck searching if you spell it correctly: Pedersen.

  Do your boxes look like the one in the upper left corner?
  
  
  
  Most boxes of .276 Pedersen which are usually seen are those from lots 21 and 23.

  Lot 23 was one of the more common types of Pedersen ammunition produced by Frankford Arsenal.
  
  The FB-9892 case was used in testing of the "new" Garand rifle and used the larger .30 caliber brass primer since a switch to noncorrosive primers was already being considered in the late 1920's and a larger primer cup was needed for noncorrosive primers. Besides that the military had already standardized .30 caliber primers for the .30-06 round.
  
  The box in the above photo is the FB-9892 case with the PC-50 bullet and is Lot 23. Both lots 21 and 23 were made in larger quantities for production testing with the Garand rifle and both lots were headstamped F A 29.
  
  So many of these rounds were produced that surplus quantities were released for sale to the general public by the Director of Civilian Marksmanship or DCM.
  
  Often people get these rounds confused with the .30 Pedersen cartridge which was to be used in a top secret device in the final days of WWI with the 1903 Springfield rifle and a special attachment to turn it into a semi-automatic rifle.
  
  These cartridges are not particularly hard to find either; however, certain types can be quite scarce.
  
  There is a lot of hyp about Pedersen cartridges, but it depends upon having the right one.
