Remington 700 issue
Went and fired the last few rounds of a box of shells yesterday, so I could start working up a load. The gun is a Remington 700 .375 H&H and the ammo was Factory Federal 270 gr. semi round nose. The problem, is that when I fired a round and went to pull the bolt back, it was sticking in the chamber. I had to give the bolt a pretty good pull to eject the empty. Didn't notice any visual signs of excessive pressure, but it almost sounds like thats whats happening. Maybe have a chamber with a shorter throat and it's having difficulties with the round nose bullets? What do you guys think?

Lots of possibilities. The chamber might need cleaning. The ammo might be hot even if there are few signs. Sticking ammo can be a sign of high pressure. Rarely, a few lots might make it out of the factory slightly overloaded. I don't think the bullets are seated too long, but it is possible. Coat the bullets with a substance, insert the ammo and see if the bullets touch the lands. I suggest you clean your chamber well and try again with handloads or other factory ammo. It should solve your problem. 0 -

+1, and don't leave oil in the chamber. I can cause the same effect.0 -
Check the chamber for surface rust. It will cause hard extraction. A big problem in this humid area. 0 -
did you have this problem with the first FEW rounds?
if not, what the others said, clean the chamber.0
