Luger 9mm

I have aquired a Luger handgun with F 11 cal 9mm on the gun any info would be appreciated. Thanks

    Most lugers were made in 9mm some in 30 luger but original lugers had serial number in two places and 2 digits of the serial number on many of the small parts the . They would also have the name or CODE of the name of who built the pistol At this point we will need either MUCH MORE information with all markings letters numbers marks etc or better yet in focus close-up pictures from all angles of the pistol to give you even a WAG the F11 is at this point meaningless.

    edit not to belabor the point buy most military lugers only have a 4 digit or less serial number They will also most times have a letter and then on top of the front receiver ring there will be either a 2 or 4 digit date. You see they started a new serial number BATCH each month of each year and each company that made them. Again PICTURES are a MUST with Lugers. All letters/ proof marks / numbers are important to idenfy what you have sort of like "I have a blue ford with 4 wheels and a v8 motor what is it and what is it worth?"

    Link below shows what Perry Shooter is talking about. Please study the photos on top of the string, and try and duplicate it with your pistol.
    If not, notice the stampings/markings on the gun in the photos, and tell us what appears on your gun in the same locations as depicted in the photos. Here's the link. Good luck!

    If it has Cal 9mm stamped on it, it isn't a WWII bringback and it probably isn't an Interarms import from the fifties. Since it uses the English "Cal" instead of "Kal", it is most probably an East German or Russian rework and stamped by the American importer.
