rem 700 =25/06
i baught a new rem 700 in a 25/06 i already had the same gun but i have alot of shells already loaded up for my older 700 most of them wont chamber in the new rifle unless i force the bolt shut what damage would that do to force the bolt shut a hunting buddy of mine got my older 700 i hate to just unload a couple hundred loaded shells

Sounds like the chamber is slightly shorter on your new rifle. If you reload Then you will have to set your sizing die slightly tighter /shorter With that said if the case neck is too long and binding the bullet in the freebore of the chamber it CAN cause High Pressure. or if the freebore of new rifle is shorter it can be jamming the bullet into the Lands of the bore also a BAD thing. If it were me I would pull one bullet then dump powder and try to chamber just the empty case if It chambers easy then I would not shoot any of your old reloads. 0 -

But in addition I would sell that ammo to your buddy with your old rifle and start over working up a load for the new one. You will save yourself a lot of grief. The 25-06 is VERY fusy, a load that is fine in one may be way hot for another. I`ve seen this several times with 25-06`s (my favorite round).0 -
thanks guys for the info my buddy already got all the ammo except the ones that would chamber in my new rifle guess ill just give him them too the 25/06 is my favorite caliber too thats why i got a new one wasnt nothing wrong with the older one just outer finish on the butt stock i belive my older was the best shooting gun in our deer camp but my good friend need a good rifle he usually came out of the woods empty handed 0
