Winchester Model 21

I'm trying to determine the manufacture date of a model 21 with a serial number of 25184. Also, how common/rare is the model 21 having 3" barrels insted of 2 3/4?

The stock on the model 21 appears to have been cut but a very professional job; the LOP is 13". How much would this de-value the gun?

    Looking for advice on purchasing a Winchester model 21. I have read extensively on this model and would like opinions from those who have experience with them. Are they really "Winchester's Finest"?

    The Model 21 Has a large following like many things some People think it is the finest AMERICAN made shot gun ever built and others try to discredit this gun . They were all hand fitted and there are no replacement barrels that will interchange . You can get a letter of the history of the gun BERT H will have the address DO NOT modify this shot gun in any way as it will cut the value BIG TIME maybe hundreds if not thousands of dollars . We will need close-up in focus pictures from all angles to help determine value. For insurance start at $2000 and go up from there. depending on condition.

    probably closer to 4000 I just sold a skeet grade refinished perfectly for 4500

    value will be determined by condition and original configuration and how close it is to it's original condition. contact the Cody firearms museum have the gun lettered and find another less valuable shotgun to take afield. post some good closeup pictures here and forum members will tell condition. don't alter the gun just light oil and clean

    Buy the factory letter for it from the Cody Firearms Museum, then post that information here along with several well illuminated pictures. I personally believe that $4000 is much too low for a high condition original Model 21.

    nothing against your dad but check and see if your mom wants to get married again[:D][:D]not sure what I got from my wife but it wasn't a model 21

    I have a long standing love for Winchester Model 21's and would love
    to see the gun you are writing about.

    I am from Minnesota also, have a home in Lakeville and a cabin in
    Longville. Ironically enough, my wife and I are wintering in Green Valley, just about 20 miles south of Tucson.

    I would come to Tucson to meet you and talk about Model 21's, if you're interested.
