Colt Python 357

I have a Colt Python 357, manufactured in 1979, stainless, 4in barrel, orignal box and manual. Has never been fired. Wondering what this gun is worth.

    Got a brand new never fired Colt Python 357 mag in SS all new with original box and papers.
    What do you think this gun would sell for?

    Pythons have been going thru the roof lately. As you describe probably around $1000 to $1400. Is it a 6"?

    Is it the "Ultimate" high polished stainless or the regular finish stainless? For comparison, the top Python in this pic is an "ultimate" with polished finish. The ultimates were made in 6" only and factory tuned at the custom shop.

    I'd like to say it's worth about $400. Since I can't even say that with a straight face, I won't say it. I'd love to have this revolver, but I believe a $1000 would be a good starting point. Depends on how fast you want to sell it.

    I think you could sell them all day long at $1000. If I were going to auction it off I'd start at $1500 and watch it go.

    Like it has been said, the Pythons, Diamondbacks and Anaconda's by Colt are extremely desirable. Not only by collectors, but by shooters too. That said, I would start the auction at $999.99, and not put a reserve on it. Reserves are OK, but turn off a lot of buyers. Instead, start the gun at near to where you would put the reserve. I would for this gun not put a Buy Now! on this, as I am sure it will take off and surprise you. It should fetch near 2K.

    It is a six in a mirror polished finish like your middle picture with the brown checkered stock like the last one in your picture i believe. If anyone wants it it will go up for auction this weekend along with about 15 other hand guns. My uncle passed a couple of weeks ago and he was a dealer in guns back in the 90's so most of these will be early 90 guns brand new in box. I would love to keep it but I only got a 1/4 share of the estate and this gun is just to dam expensive for me to keep around the house not to mention I already have 4 other handguns but it is beautiful.

    I put it up for sale today. I hope 1700 is not to high but I wont sell it for less.

    +100 on the paypal--they find out firearms are involved in the transaction they can and have cancelled peoples account as well as held the money up for long periods of time. Paypals sucks for gun purchases[;)]
