S&W Model 33 for $150?
It is chambered for the 38 S&W, not the 38 Special...is it worth $150...I would say it is in about 80-85% condition. No rust.

That sounds like an excellent price to me, I would think any condition at all would be over 2 bills. The M33 was built from 1917 till about 1971, if I recall the early ones were built on an I frame, they had a half moon sight while the newer ones were a J frame and had a ramp sight.
If my memory serves correctly.
38 S&W is the correct caliber, the Model 33 Regulation Police DA revolver was the same basic type as the .32 Hand ejector except for the square butt grips. I think the Model 31 was the same thing in .32 S&W, the Model 33 was 38 S&W with 5 rounds. And, I think it only came in 4" barrel in the 38 S&W with fixed sights.
I would buy it in a flash....!!

With the limited information you give for me to go on, I'll have to guess. You say Model 33 and don't include a dash #.
If it is stamped M33 no dash, it was made 1957 or after but before 1961 ( the start of -1)
You say 80/85% condition which puts it in the shooter class. Collectors tend to look for 95% to "New In Box" guns especially with a model that new (post war).
The Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson 3rd edition lists the model 33 as:
Very good, $235
Good, $185
Fair, $135
It's your call, is the older weak 38S&W worth it for shooter or are you going to hold out for a "specisl"?

I would buy it, but I like 38 S&W and load for it. 0 -
ANY S&W in 80% + condition is worth $200. I just don't see them for that price at shops and shows in my (Seattle) area. I gave a mod 33 away to a friend years ago. Don't see them around at all much anymore.
