270 wsm
I am looking to buy a 270 wsm. I am thinking about the Savage or the Tika. Which is the most accurate? Is the 270 wsm a good shooter?

i have a 270wsm in the savage. took it out today and gettin 5 inch group at 100 yards. but at fifty it is better. loading 58.5 grains of imr4350. suggestions on this. raise powder or lower? 140gr hornady sst. just not acceptable for me where it is now. thanks 0 -
is the scope on tight? I had the same problem with a .270 a while back til I checked down and sure enough it had come loose. 0 -
wsm325 I've had several guns in that cartridge, and they all shot under one inch at 100 yds. I agree with Ruger41. If is not the scope, check the action screws for proper torque. If these things don't help, scrub the "puddin" out of the Bbl. Even the worst handload should shoot down to 2" more or less. Also limit your groups to 3 rounds, and cool down. Clean every 15 rnd's max. Good luck. 0 -
thanks for the advice just checked and everything is tight. i have a simmons 6.5-20-50 maybe the scope will not hold up? not sure what is wrong. but fifty yards it is good thats what i dont understand. 0 -
Get rid of that simmons and put on a Burris FullField II. Those simmons are not worth the metal and plastic they are made of on a hard kicking rifle, especially.

Sounds like scope to me. I've got a Win 70 in 270WSM, put a Leupold Rifleman 3x9x40 on it. Consistant 1" groups @ 100 yds off a make-shift bench. For the money Leupold Rifleman,($150 on GB), a low cost, effective set-up 0 -
Scope rings, I replaced the bases and rings on my sons 270wsm Savage package. Even with the Simmons scope and 130SST's on the 1st load it always shoots 1" moa. He can replace the scope on his own coin when he is older. 0 -
i already had to replace rings cause of the 50mm lens all that is left is the base. i have a burris 6.5 20-50 on my 300wsm browning a bolt and it only lasted 2 weeks and fogged up. little leary bout gettin another. 0
