Maverick 88
I recently purchased a Maverick 88; 12 gauge pump. It is the 'home defense' model with a short barrel and pistol grip stock. I have the standard stock and would like to use this shotgun for deer hunting. I've ben told the Mossberg 500 slug barrel is interchangeable. Is this true? Thanks.

I know this has to be a frequently asked question, but I recently purchased a Maverick 88 and have been doing some research on accessories. This shotgun is essentially the same as the Mossberg 500 and all parts can be interchanged save the forearm. I am curious if there is something I can replace that would allow me to attach a Mossberg 500 forearm to this gun? 0 -
if the barrels interchange, that would narrow it down to the action slide tube assembly and nut, and possibly the magazine tube. 0 -
Did you want to try and put a pistol grip forearm on it? Check the package it is sold in. Not all the part are interchangeable. I know the safties are different. The 500 is on the top and the 88 is on the trigger guard. 0 -
The slide tube assembly will need to changed to a 500 one. There used to be an adapter you could buy but I haven't seen one lately. 0
