shot gun question

my neighbor asked me about this gun. its a palmett arms co. 16 guage double barrel. stamped philladelphia pa. anyone know anything about these? just checked on gb and they are not listed for sale on there. any info would be helpful thanks

  Are you sure it doesn't say "PalmettoArms Co.? If so, I would guess you have a shotgun made by one of several different manufacturers such as Crescent Firearms, Hopkins & Allen, or Stevens. Palmetto Arms Co was actually a trade name used by the Tryon Hardware/Catalog company in Philadelphia between around 1900-1925. It probably is more of a wall hangar than a shooter in that event but pictures would be helpful in determining that and a gunsmith or knowledgeable person should examine the gun before attempting to fire it.
  
  I am unable to find any information on a "Palmett Arms Co".

  Are you sure of the spelling?
  Palmetto Arms Co. is Italian and makes re-production shotguns

  thanks this is the correct spelling it was his grandfathers so its pretty old. thanks for the input
