S&W 915 ?

May have a shot at picking up a S&W 915
from original owner in a trade deal.
went over to the auction to see what they
were going for, and saw only three for sale.
The gun is not too old, I remember when he
bought it new back a few years ago.
My question, Is this model no longer made ?
was it unpopular ?
are there problems with it ?
I havent seen many guns on this sight that
only had three for sale, exept for some hi
dollar stuff. Should I persue this deal or
stay away from it ?

    My humble opinion is that while S&W makes fantastic revolvers, their semi autos have really been lacking in quality and ergonomics. I would avoid the 915 unless you get it really, really cheap.

    I have one of these and it seems to be quite useable. Maybe not as smooth or durable as others but very few users are likely to wear out a pistol anyway. Mine has not failed to function in any way up to this point. The grip is smaller than other double stacks so fits smaller hands a little better.

    S&W bought the old NOBEL brand and continued to mgf. this shotgun........it was a pos then and S&W didn't improve it. Many parts changes so parts replacement is a problem. If it works shoot it, if it don't junk it[;)]
