1100 rem extractor removal

Don't know if I'm getting lazy or smart in my old age.I know the extractor more or less "unhooks" from the bolt (with the spring depressed).Am I not holding my mouth right or something.I didnt fight it very long(it just makes things worse for me).Could someone give me a clue on this.Thanks Roger

  You need to depress the spring loaded plunger all the way to the bottom and with pliers hook onto the extractor and carefully lift it out..
  While your holding your mouth right of course [:D]

  Grab the front of the extractor hook sides with a good pair of strong pliers, while gripping the extractor push strongly to the rear of the bolt, then pull the extractor out of the slot. By pushing to the rear you depress the spring which holds it in place thus allowing you to pull it out.
