9mm rimfire shotgun?

How much trouble would it be to rebore and chamber a Remington #4 rolling block 32 rimfire to a 9mm rimfire smooth bore shotgun?The ammo is about $20 a box of 50 and should be a good "in-barn"rat and pigeon gun.

    One,I think it'll possibly ruin the collector value of your gun if you do that,and two you can buy an NEF(New England Firearms)single shot .410 shotgun for what you mention. .410 shells typically run 10 bucks at Wal-mart and may be cheaper at other stores.With the work you want done it may be cheaper for you just to buy a new gun.hope that helps.

    fiochi 9mm shotshells ar 50.00 for 50. for all the trouble youd be involved in, id leave well enough alone and just by a new pair of shoes for the new dance.

    I know,but you see I'v got this old Remington sitting here in the barn,it's bore is pitted to no end but it's good and tight,fires and ejects well but 32 rf ammo is about a dollar a pop these days and the sollids poke holes in my barn.I'm thinking the 9mmRF with #8shot will be just about right.
    Midway has 9mmRf ammo for less than $22. for 50

    Redtail:I suggest maybe taking the gun to a gunsmith and possibly getting a new barrel or even getting it re-lined.After that,sell it and buy a .410 shotgun.not many people are clamoring for .410 shells and you may find its cheaper in the long run.just a thought.

    I'd look for a model 36 Winchester (I'll be listing one shortly!)
    Or, if you want the ultimate barn gun, get a Bernardelli semi auto 9mm shotgun! They are awsome for pests!! (Oh yeah, I'll be listing one of those too!)

    I thought there was only a haz mat fee for either primers or powder, but not for loaded ammo? I know the boxes have to have the ORM-D sticker on them, but I think that's it.

    I'm no gun smith, but seeing how its a rimfire
    the firing pin does not strike in the center of
    the bore as would a centerfire.
    So it seems to me that if you were to rebore
    the barrel your firing pin would no longer
    strike the rim of the cartrige but somewhere
    closer to the center. Reboring the barrel
    might be the easyer modification you would
    need to make for this conversion.

    Thanks for the input,you are the first one to realy address the issue.The .32 has a .377 rim and the 9mm has a .402 rim (.025dif.).I am thinking slight modifications to the fireing pin and extractor and of course the rebore.
    Any other problems you think may pop up.
