Very limited state side sale, late 80's/early 90's? time frame. Reputation for excellent accuracy. High dollar collectors item nowadays, if factory original and at least very good cosmetic condition. If you have a opportunity do get one in very good condition that is factory original, at a good price? Jump on it.

The stock has a very prominent stress crack in it. I would pass for $700 because of this. Not likely you will ever be able to get your hands on a original to replace it.

The time frame of late 70's to late 80's seems about right to me, thats when I remember having sold them. I as I recall they were both reliable and accurate. were always pricey and if I remember right had polygonal bore.[ or was that the centerfire version?] that "stress" crack should be a simple fix for a good wood worker or gunsmith, a couple of brass pins and epoxy done right you will forget it is there. the $700. seems a very good price, but if you point out the cost of fixing the stock, and get it for 75 to a hundred less ,I would jump on it . , best, Bob

My experience with collectors of H & K stuff, is they are are a pretty fussy bunch. Don't see any of them springing $700 for one with a cracked stock, unless they knew where they could get their hands on a original stock to replace the bad one.

As I see it with the cracked stock, it takes the rifle out of the realm of being a collectors quality piece, i.e. your going to be paying $700 for what amounts to be plinker. Not likely unless you get your hands on a original replacement stock are you going to get a collector to take it off your hands.

I want a 22 mag semi to shoot not collect. So I would be just as well to by a Ruger. But they are not cheap anymore either
    thanks

Marlin makes great semi 22wmr rifles. If you skip the semi part, Savage makes great bolt action 22wmr rifles.

If you grab this one, you will be head and shoulders above anything you can find in a semi auto, even the touted Volquartsen...which is basically a modified Ruger. $700.00 is a steal for that one in the pictures.
