Herters Ammunition
I just bought three full boxes of vintage factory-loaded Herters 300 Win Mag ammo at an estate sale. Ammo is in great shape but boxes are a little worn. I have lots of 300 Win Mag ammo and will probably sell this stuff on GunBroker. One box contains 155 Gr spirepoints; the other two are 180 Gr spirepoints. I was just wondering what it might bring on the auction market? Would it be of more interest to shooters or collectors? I've heard the brass was made by Norma, so perhaps I should just keep it, shoot it, and reload it for my own use. Any thoughts?

I doubt the value would justify the expense and hassle of shipping the live ammo. I'd use it. 0 -
Shoot it !
I had several boxes of 38s from Herters.
Shot great !
As far as reloading ,I had bad luck .
Primer pockets were oversized, and primers would back out under recoil.
Give it a try though .0 -
Taking the ammo to a gun show and selling it there will save you the shipping costs. Big shows usually have a few ammo collectors on hand. 0 -
I've got a Herters XK3 in .300WM and would love to have it just for display. But I've got to agree with RCrosby, the trouble to ship outweighs the novelty. Why don't you buy my rifle instead. GoodLuck - RounderRick 0
