Electronic safe lock????

I have a large safe with a s&g electronic lock. I have a co worker that says that you can take the lock face off another s&g lock and replace mine with it and it will open my safe with there combo!!!! I DON"T THINK SO. BUT??????? will it?
I would think that s&g would not let it be that easy
anybody know????

  The key pad is just that, a key pad only, the comb. is inside in the lock assy.

  I own a safe with a mechanical S&G lock. But I have run across information on changing the battery in the electronic keypads. There is a "Factory default " code. So it is possible that it could be indeed true. I'll not post that information on the web here .
  
  But keep in mind you should also have a home security system in addition to the safe.
  
  The combination of the two together should prevent burglars from performing this procedure while the sirens are blaring and the police are responding.

  Exactly. All that is outside the vault is the keypad. The lock assembly with the code is inside the vault.

  Just don't trust those electronic locks. I like the old fashioned way of using a combination.
