Taurus 85 Ported Barrel
I have an older Taurus 85M snubbie with a ported barrel. I haven't fired it for some time, but as I recall - It's Great for gut shots if aiming chest high - LOTTSA flash coming outta the ports kinda blinds one.
I'm seeking advice on plugging the ports all or some.
I'm leaning towards taping them and plugging them with loc-tited steel allen socket set screws.
any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

It would probably be best to sell it "as is", then buy one that suits you better. I had one like yours and that's what I did. I bought a S&W M60 and couldn't be happier. 0 -
I own a ported S&W 340.
Plugging the ports by using screws seems a like a dangerous idea.
I'd say to leave well enough as it is.0 -
Plugging the ports would be nuts.

I agree with Twalker, sell it and buy new. I have an 85 ported and one not ported, both will blind you for a moment when fired in the dark, which is why you should use a shotgun for home defense (IMHO).
The ported are in demand.
Trying to plug the ports is not a good idea.
Best of luck0 -
What I didn't think of was to re-barrel it.
However, leaving well enough alone sounds like a grand idea as well. Thanks agian.0
