I am selling a small modern rifle and an older musket. These require packaging for shipping with USPS. My local USPS does not have any suitable boxes. Any suggestions where to get them? I have tried the UPS store, Staples and Walmart.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Lenny

Hello rice123, and welcome to the forums here on Gunbroker.com.

Try Brownell's, or Midway USA for shipping boxes. I think they have them.

    rice123,

I got some from Uline. Min. purchase of 15 though. They are working out great. I am shipping my rifles in a soft case wrapped in bubble wrap and they fit into these boxes really nice.

How big hurry? For the cost of shipping I'll send you what I have left over. I'll have 9 or 10.

uline is a good source but spend more and buy the telescoping boxes. Ups requires 3-4 inches of padding on each side so the boxes shown above will not be properly padded if there is damage. USPS would probably give you trouble also. Those boxes are made for guns shipped in the factory box

If you have a golf shop in your area pay them a visit. Ask them for their unwanted (trash) shipping boxes for clubs. With plenty of bubble wrap they make excellent shipping boxes for long guns. ( I don't even ask; I just visit their dumpster.)
I have shipped several this way. Besides being free there is an advantage in that asinine USPS clerks are far less likely to get uptight if they think you are shipping a driver or a putter or whatever in between.
