Special Thanks...Model 21 Purchase
I would like to thank in alphabetical order...Bert, Bill(Old-Colts) and Pauline, and anyone else that piped up, for helping me with my decision to buy an old Win 21.
I took the drive yesterday morning an picked it up. Connie at the Cody museum also went out of her way to speed things along.
Paulines shop records confirmed everything that the cody mueseum stated and detailed exactly what happened on the 3 "return and repairs"
Here is a pretty neat history of the Cat Key (island) that was owned by the guy this gun was made for. I have also confirmed that John Olin also had a winter home on Cat Key.

Thank you to all, I will put up some photos of gun in a bit, here is the letter from 2003 that matches current cody records. Todd

If I am not mistaken, that means no "gutta percha", or fish belly stock. That means the area in front of the heel, and behind the wrist has no sag, but is a straight line. If I am mistaken, I am sure one of the experts will correct my statement.

Congratulations!!!! Helping other folks spend their money is about as much fun as spending my own; but without the regrets!!!! [:D][:D]
Oops, forgot to add; beautiful gun!0 -
The purchase of a lifetime. [^] The fact that it went Back 3 times was IMHO not for a rebuild each 10 years apart but rather all within the same time frame 10 years after it was first shipped. Depending on how long you have been married That model 21 might be my new bed partner. [}:)][;)][:o)] 0 -
OMG..... what a beauty. 0 -

trs1965 got it right! Fishbelly or Perchbelly are terms used to describe a "belly" in the stock.

Looks to be about a $200 gun new, I hope you didn't pay that much for a used gun.
That sure is nice, something to be proud to own and show. I have a few nice things, but nothing even comes close to comparing to that one.
Take good care of it. You don't often get to see, let alone touch or own something like that.0 -
