Help with Two Savage 99's info.
I have a friend that Recently lost his right arm in a 4 wheeler accident. He is now home and faced with a bunch of bills. He has two Savage 99's that were his Grandfathers that he wants me to sell for him. I know guns but I also know that there are some things I might miss on these and I want to get the most out of them that I can for him. Anyone collect these that can help me figure all of the particulars on them before I list them? I will be picking them up Monday or Tuesday. One is a Model 99 .300 Savage made in 1937 or 1938 (according to the info I found in the Blue Book). the other is a Model 99A .250-3000.

Prices on these are highly regional. The .300 Savage will bring less than the .250-3000, but prices will depend largely upon condition and originality. Receivers bored and tapped after purchase, refinishing and similar changes hurt values badly in most cases. If the rifles are in something like 75% condition he can probably realize around $1000-$1500 for the two. 0 -
