Colt Police Positive Special

I have a Colt Police Positive 38 Special and would like to know the age and value. The number on starts with 2 and has a C following it. The barrel is 2 1/2". Scratched on the inside of the grip is what appears to be September 1927.

    I know this has been covered before but I'm still unclear as to what calibers the police positive special came in. Ser# 6117xx. Thanks.

    We can't tell you anything without pictures; some of them must be close enough that we can read the markings, including the serial number.

    A 2 1/2 inch barrel would be most unusual.
    Probably sawn off.
